This Facebook group is for paddling enthusiasts who have or are interested in paddling the qathet Canoe Route in whole or in part. It is a place for sharing information, asking questions, posting photos or posting items for sale related to paddling, camping, etc.
Help us celebrate Powell River’s (qathet’s) trails, lakes and waterways.
The qathet (Powell Forest) Canoe Route was first developed by a group of Powell Riverites who had a vision to link up a series of lakes into a rustic route. In doing so they created the route we know today. The Friends of the qathet Canoe Route Society wants to rekindle that spirit. Since about 1990, the route has contributed to our economy and has provided us with a great canoeing, hiking, walking recreation opportunity for more years than that. It's out there and it can use your support.
